Sounds like a fair few clubs/people in the game are strongly questioning/concerned why Hause wasn't sent off for that forearm on Fornals.

Calm your tits mate.

It was 100% a yellow, and I dont think either of us have seen it close enough to say whether is merited more than that. Looked fucking ugly though.

I think if you review my posting history, you will see I really am not one of those people.

'Wish we had a player half as good as Declan Rice. If Grealish was worth 100m he isn't far off. Our midfield is leagues apart in comparison.'

,Not sure how we’re losing this one. Two really lucky goals from West Ham. There’s no doubt, if we can get the ball in the opposition third we can score goals here.

I was against Young when he came on but he’s a calming influence in midfield.

Still think we’ll get something from this'.

Swiss - The thing is on here when we play the other sides should have a couple of players sent off every game and we should have half a dozen penalties, and the ref is always shit, but when there is a neutral game on most posters want a player to be shot for it to be a pen or a red card. That's this site for you, full of hypocrites.

Again, football should learn from RU and Cricket. Let us hear the conversation between the ref and Stockleigh Park.

It's also time for refs to face the media after the game and explain their decisions, which can often cost a club a few million in revenue if a wrong decision is made.

I cannot think of a single multi billion industry where no one is accountable for their actions.

Did you see a close up of the Antonio challenge? I mean I haven't but from a distance it looked like he was poleaxed.

It was nice to see JGH on Motd taking the piss out of their player rolling around after the Fornals clash.

Fucking hell is Sven still CRYING that the whole of the Villa team should have been sent off.... typical fake Aussie... that's what happens being brought up on a fucking bent sport like AFL... the tight vest wearing benders

Re: ⚽ Aston Villa v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-4
I’m fairly sure both could have been sent off whatever the chain of events. Serious foul play can be punished retrospectively by VAR without it having to alter events that followed, if the ref missed it in real time.

I have to say I haven't seen either of the fouls back... Just in real time from our end.

Razzle:

This is what the law says 21/22:

"Advantage should not be applied in situations involving serious foul play, violent conduct or a second cautionable offence unless there is a clear opportunity to score a goal."

So You and I are both partially correct. You don't play advantage for red card offences in normal circs... but the exception is if there is a clear goalscoring opportunity. Thanks for suggesting I look it up, that's useful for me to know.

So yes he could have given two reds IF he'd thought the first was a red and played advantage, followed by DOGSO.

But he didn't appear to indicate any advantage was being played after the initial assault.

So with VAR in this circumstance I'm presuming that if a red is then issued retrospectively for the initial foul that its concluded the ball was subsequently out of play from that point. So once VAR is involved then you can only send one off.

They should have had two off for the elbow and for pulling antonio down by his neck.

Re: ⚽ Aston Villa v West Ham - Official Match Thread FT 1-4
The referee was absolutely awful yesterday, he gave everything to them. I couldn't believe it when their fans started giving him a load of abuse (before the sending off, after that of course they wouldn't have been happy).

You are seriously suggesting that the foul on Antonio could have been a red. Well FMOB.

Sven Roeder 3:54 Mon Nov 1

The defender was trying to take a foul for the team, knowing he had no chance if Antonio got away from him. Another good advantage from the ref but 100% should have come back and at least booked him.
